How can i set up a Hotmail email acoount on Outlook Express?

Hotmail is a free email service provided by Microsoft.

The defaults in all Windows Operating Systems want you to use their products, which include the MSN products like hotmail.

www.msn.com %26gt; select Hotmail on left near top (underneath the word Welcome). Select this option with a mouse click and it will take you to the sign-in screen where you can select the gray "Sign Up" button on the left. Then you will be given the choices of accounts you can have. You can get a free account or you can get one that you have to pay for. The features are listed underneath each heading.

Once you have the account and password then you need to set up your Internet Browser and Outlook to use the choice.

In Internet Explorer %26gt; Internet Options %26gt; dialogue box opens %26gt; select the programs tab %26gt; then change the defaults.

You need to do something similar in Outlook. If you can't find the options then you will have to use the Help Files, but it should be easy to set Hotmail as your default email.

Now that you have things set up you can use the full functionality of Outlook and IE. There won't be a lot of changes, but there will be some. If you open an image file and want to email it then you can right click on it and select the email option, which will automatically open your Hotmail Account log-in page.

If you buy the full version of Hotmail then you can get the abililty to link your other email addresses with Hotmail so it can receive email from your other accounts. Most email accounts let you RECEIVE free POP3 incoming services, but they charge you for OUTGOING POP3 services, because you will no longer be going into their account and subject to their ads.

Yeah, you need to buy a full Hotmail account, the free version doesn't allow POP3 access through standalone mail clients like Outlook.
