How do i set up an email icon so i'd know i received an email?

1. Left click on the bottom task bar (the blue bar at the bottom of your screen)


2. scroll down to properties (usually at the bottom of the pop-up)and click on properties.


3.Under the task bar tab, click on the box that says show quick launch. Then down towards the bottom click on the button that says 'customize'.


4.There look for the icon that says 'you have new email' by it. On that same row, make sure the text in the [behavior] side of the little window says 'Always show'. If it doesn't then click on the text that's there and a small scroll bar will appear and you will choose the 'Always show' text, and then click OK at the bottom,and then OK the second time and you should be set to go.
